Description: Drive through native and plantation forests and enjoy rainforest walks, pristine waterholes and shaded picnic areas along the way.
Level of difficulty: Beginner
Best time of year to do it: 365 days!
What you need to know before you go: Tyre deflators for letting them down and a compressor for pumping them back up!

I have so many favourite features, but the top one must be how small and compact the Jimny is! It’s not just great for off-roading, it makes parking anywhere an absolute breeze!

Track / location: Moreton Island
Description: Moreton Island is a paradise for 4WD enthusiasts, with its expansive sandy tracks, crystal-clear lakes, and stunning beaches. Known for its towering sand dunes and the famous Tangalooma Wrecks, it’s the perfect destination!
Level of difficulty: 3/10
Best time of year to do it: Spring/Summer
What you need to know before you go: Make sure you have recovery gear, you’ll need to book the ferry prior to your trip and don’t forget to book your beach permit & camping online! I highly recommend snorkelling at the wrecks, and driving to the desert to sand board the dunes.

Jimny, the compact, go-anywhere, off-road superhero, isn’t afraid to roll up its sleeves – and has enough grunt to tow a tinnie and trailer up to 1,300kg (braked), or 350kg without brakes. Fun times on four wheels or no wheels – it’s your choice!

Cop this… did you know that in some places around the world, Jimny is a crucial member of the police force? In Italy, the special forces police (or Carabinieri to locals) have 10 Jimnys in their vehicle fleet. These decked-out Jimnys are able to reach difficult-to-access places other vehicles simply can’t.
A little closer to home, the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary also has a fleet of Jimnys in their police force, helping them to access mountainous areas.

Danny from The Power Station Co. has been churning out mobile off-grid coffee at events big or small since 2019. Danny is a self-confessed ‘Suzi-lover’, with a collection including a 1974 LJ50, a 1985 Sierra LWB, a 1997 coil sprung Sierra and currently bringing “coffee to the people” in a 2024 Jimny XL (affectionately named ‘PiccXLo’).
