Emerald (@emerald_western) is a 22-year-old from Gladstone, QLD, who works full-time in Engineering. She loves a good laugh and keeps life balanced with camping trips, epic views and even better people. She has a soft spot for memories and knows she’ll remember every single one made in her Jimny.
She just calls her Jimny – Suzi, though her mates like to joke that it’s more of a chest freezer!
Emerald’s favourite memory in Suzi has to be Fraser Island — she loved how easy and capable the drive was, making the whole trip unforgettable.
The most drool-worthy Jimny in her opinion is definitely @the_little_rig, it’s simple, tough and done right.
On Emerald’s local bucket list is Five Rocks National Park. She loves the area but still hasn’t ticked it off (yet!).
Her off-road recs? Fraser Island is a must if you haven’t done it already, along with Eurimbula National Park!
We have an additional resolution for some of you too… stop overloading your roof!
Keep your roof light, and your adventures safer. Your roof isn’t a storage unit, piling too much weight up top might seem convenient, but it can upset handling, strain your vehicle, and even land you on the wrong side of the law. Enjoy the mud, sand, and trails, but let your roof breathe a little, and your ride will thank you.
When you buy a Jimny, you unknowingly become part of a community with some unspoken rules. And in 2026, we’ll be proudly continuing these rituals:
Carly is a beach lover who’s always chasing sun, sand, and surf, and her Jimny, “Sandy,” is her ultimate adventure companion. Together, they explore hidden coastal gems, scenic dunes, and untouched beaches for the perfect seaside escape.
Her most memorable experience was driving along a secluded beach at sunrise, with the waves crashing and the salty breeze filling the air, it felt like pure freedom.
For local off-roading, Carly recommends Fraser Coast. It is an off-roading paradise, with over 120km of sandy coastline, crystal-clear lakes, and lush rainforests. The iconic 75 Mile Beach doubles as a highway and airstrip, offering ocean views, river crossings, and access to highlights like the Maheno Shipwreck and Eli Creek—truly a bucket-list destination for any Jimny adventurer.
Luca calls Far North Queensland home, giving him easy access to countless hidden gems. He bought his Jimny to replace his old Mazda with one clear goal in mind: tackling Cape York. Without a suitable car for the trip at the time, the Jimny became the answer, and he’s never looked back.
Set up for touring, Luca’s Jimny features a full custom rear fit-out, including a bespoke 12V system, custom drawers, fridge slide and lighting. He’s also added several custom 3D-printed components that he designed himself (with a little inspiration from a few local mates). Built to reach the kind of remote places most vehicles can’t, his Jimny is all about getting off the beaten track.
His rig has earned the nickname “Windbreaker” from the boys, thanks to a previous setup that made quite an impression.
When it comes to drool-worthy builds, Luca draws inspiration from @JJ0033, whose approach to custom fabrication and maximising limited space has taken Jimny builds to another level.
Luca’s most memorable Jimny experience so far is Cape York, including the iconic Telegraph Track (and stay tuned, he’s heading back again this year). Still on his local bucket list? Completing the Five Beaches at Cape York, which he missed out on last time.
His top recommendation: the Telegraph Track. At just over 150km, it’s a legendary drive that showcases Cape York’s rugged terrain, with countless swimming spots along the way, an absolute must-do trip.
Picture this: Back in 2018, a bright-yellow Suzuki Jimny, tiny but fearless, hauled a 3.5 m Christmas tree from the Scottish Highlands all the way to London. Richard Webber from Autocar had volunteered for this slightly unusual side quest. Starting in Scotland, he went off-road and onto a potholed, gravelly track—sliding about on sodden patches of loam, though the Jimny made light work of it.
From there, the team moved through an exposed riverbed scattered with big, slippery rocks. They waited for the underbody thud as the Jimny tackled the boulders, but it never came. The little 4×4 was thrown around like a rag doll as it scaled the exit point, yet it scrambled up and out on the first attempt.
With the Jimny’s off-road prowess confirmed, they looped around to source their special Christmas tree. Once the cargo was secured, they headed south towards an overnight stop in Edinburgh.
Day two brought warnings of gales in the west, and the tree squirmed like a wounded alien, the rear-view mirror filled with flashes of green limbs. As the gales refused to ease, they diverted into a garden centre, where staff kindly trussed the tree for improved aerodynamics and stability. Once optimised—and with the treetop now wagging behind them like an excited puppy’s tail—they pressed on towards home.
They had been unlucky with the weather and the challenges it brought, but the Jimny came through nonetheless, carrying them from glaciated glen to city suburb over 800km. When Richard was later asked if he would drive it back, his response was simple: “Yes—but only if I could keep it.”
As another year wraps up, the Jimny community is gearing up for 2026 – not with resolutions that fade by February, but with real resolutions worth sticking to.
So here’s the challenge:
Pick one goal for you and your Jimny in 2026.
Big or small, it doesn’t matter. What counts is the commitment.

Your adventure = your rules.
We’ll be checking in, to hear your resolutions in January!
We just love the almost boundless artistic talents of Gavin Patterson and his Christmas salute to the Jimny, pictured above, is yet another impressive example of his endeavours. We contacted the ex- Kenyan who now lives in Zurich, Switzerland and asked whether he would allow us to show this image. No problem – so many thanks. You might have seen other Jimny drawings undertaken by Gavin (and yes, he does other brands and models of cars as well – even personalised ones where owners have sent him a photo as a visual reference point).
All Gavin’s work is hand-drawn and he likes it to look that way. It is not a digital manipulation of a photo.
Make sure to check out the 4×4 section on his website – it’s a treat. And, if you fancied, you can commission a one-off caricature of your vehicle in your favourite setting. Prices are quoted in CHF – that’s Swiss Francs, so knowing that, it’s a simple exercise to convert prices into Australian dollars. Obviously Gavin has done a lot of work as an art director in various advertising agencies, but true to his passion of adventurous creativity, he’s also undertaken a couple of epic solo adventures. One was to spend a year to walk the 3,000 kilometres around the South African coastline and the other was to paddle 2,000km down the Orange River in South Africa. That little jaunt took seven weeks. Breath-taking stuff on so many levels.
Let’s make it official. Chuck in your deets and join the tribe to get first access to awesome Jimny offers, free stuff, discounts, merch and more. You’ll be in with a grin.
