Bri grew up outdoors and has always had a love for adventure. In 2023, she acquired her beloved Jimny! With the support of family, friend and the Jimny community, she’s been able to learn about her car and its capabilities without hesitation. She’s passionate about encouraging young girls to step out of their comfort zones and explore the world around them.
Bri has two nicknames for her Jimny – Suzook, however, the most common nickname is Bri’s Zook.
A particularly unforgettable experience with her Jimny was the day her dad taught her how to drive along the beach. Bri found it a truly enjoyable and enriching experience, one that she cherishes deeply. Not only did she have the pleasure of learning a new skill, but it also allowed her to spend quality time with her dad.
The JelyRol is Bri’s most drool-worthy Jimny rig. But her biggest inspirations is Paris (@herjimny)!
With the lead up to Christmas, we obviously had to ask Bri if her Jimny had a Christmas nickname – what would it be?
“My Jimny’s Christmas nickname is Elf-Runner, because when you peek in the boot, my kelpie puppy is sitting there with his big ears and a tiny Santa hat, looking exactly like Santa’s little helper.”
It didn’t take long … for talented artists and designers to come up with their modified versions of the new Jimny five-door XL. Ben Sexton, who has an after-market accessories business at Burpengary on Brisbane’s northside, has crafted this unit (above). Ben has given us the okay to use this caricature that takes a few liberties with the original Jimny XL factory design. Love your work Ben.
Murilo Mattos is a sports and motorsport photographer with a deep love for adventure and the outdoors. Suzuki has been part of his life since 2013, and he’s owned three Jimnys along the way. He loves exploring remote places, spending time in nature, and sharing real experiences and Jimny is the little rig that gives me that sense of freedom.
Murilo has had so many incredible moments with his Jimny, but the most memorable was a 3,000km trip from the north to the south of Brazil – “It was an adventure I will never forget!”.
If it wasn’t for his rig (modest 😉), Murilo would say the Pirate Co Jimny is the most drool-worthy Jimny rig.
Murilo’s local rec is K’gari! North of the island is one of the most stunning remote spots in Queensland, incredible landscapes and unique wildlife you’ll only find on the island. In his opinion, it’s easily one of Queensland’s most beautiful off-road destination!
Amber bought her Jimny as a promise to herself to foster her independence, be apart of a community and build self-confidence. She loves the opportunities to go on adventures with her dog Toby and is at the beach with him any chance she gets.
Amber could never decide on a name for her Jimny, but all her friends & family refer to “Amber and her Lil Jimmy”, so she’s rolling with that!
Amber’s most memorable experience was her first trip four days after picking up her Jimny, by day two of ownership, she had booked in her first modifications at ARB North Lakes and two days after that she headed straight up to Double Island. She remembers driving on the beach for the first time and experiencing so much genuine happiness and being 100% sure that she had made the right choice. With 25000kms on the clock less than 9 months in, you can tell she has taken every opportunity she can to adventure with her Jimny!
You can argue that she is biased since their friendship, but Paris’s rig from ‘Her Jimny’ is my #1 inspiration. Almost every modification is on Amber’s extremely long to do list!
Amber will always recommended Teewah as the first go to for anyone wanting to beach drive & camp. It’s absolutely stunning and great for a first timer, but just make sure you look at the tides otherwise you’ll end up on the wall at Rainbow Beach Hotel!
Kiora’s an archaeologist who’s never afraid to get a bit dirty – whether she’s out digging in the field or cruising the trails in her Jimny, Jim. Ever since spotting a kinetic yellow JB74, she’s been dreaming of building her own tough little rig. One of her favourite memories is driving Jim home from the Gold Coast, hitting 110km/h with trucks flying past, it was such a buzz! She’s a big fan of builds like @jimnybravo74.md and @yodathejimny. And she can’t wait to test her skills on the tracks around Mount Barney one day. Closer to home, she loves the Glass House Mountains, which are perfect for a fun, bouncy drive, whether you’re up for an easy cruise or a bit more action.
The 8th annual Suzuki Social, hosted by the North Brisbane Suzuki 4×4 Club (NBS4x4), took over Janowen Hills 4WD and Camping Park from October 10–12, bringing together Suzuki enthusiasts from across Australia for a weekend of four-wheel-driving, camping, and community spirit.
This year’s event was truly one to remember, breaking records for both attendance and fundraising. More than 180 Suzukis filled the park, ranging from classic LJ and Sierra models through to the latest Jimnys, and even a few custom-built Suzuki buggies. Not just for the Queensland locals, visitors travelled from all corners of the country, including New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia, to be part of the action.
As always, exploring Janowen’s scenic tracks and testing their Zook’s capabilities in great company was an event highlight. The atmosphere throughout the weekend was electric, a mix of campfire camaraderie, good humour, and shared passion for the Suzuki brand.
The Saturday night camp feast, prepared by the famous Ranger Nick, proved a standout moment. Guests were treated to hearty servings of beef stew and lamb curry, followed by scones and fruit cobbler for dessert, a true taste of campfire comfort food at its best.
But the biggest success of all came from the event’s charity raffle, which raised a staggering $15,104 for Dig In, a Brisbane-based not-for-profit that provides meals to people experiencing hardship. It marks the highest total ever raised through the Suzuki Social, showcasing the generosity and community spirit that define the event.
The Suzuki Social continues to grow each year, celebrating not just the vehicles that bring us together, but the people, stories, and friendships that make the Suzuki community so special. None of it would be possible without the incredible attendees, sponsors, and supporters who show up year after year. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and passion for all things Suzuki are what keep the spirit of the Suzuki Social alive and thriving.
Cloe is a four-wheel-drive enthusiast who loves taking her Jimny, Jim on adventures. Being from rural Queensland, she’s surrounded by hidden tracks and beautiful beaches perfect for off-roading. One of her most memorable moments was picking up Jim – it was love at first sight! She’s inspired by builds like @the_little_rig and dreams of sending her rig up to Five Rocks one day. Close to home, she recommends Farnborough (Bangalee) Beach near Yeppoon for its soft sand entry, but warns – go full send or risk getting bogged!
