Our founder Michio Suzuki started out making silk looms, expanding into electric bikes and automobiles in the 1930s, leading to Suzuki’s first production car – the Suzulight – in 1955. And that’s when the fun really began.
Focusing on the lightweight ‘Kei’ vehicle class in Japan, Suzuki saw incredible success around the world, evolving our vehicle range and offering to the needs of every era. Since those early days, Suzuki has grown and maintained its status amongst the heavyweights, to become one of the top 10 vehicle manufacturers in the world.^
Since its first arrival in 1984, the Suzuki Swift has made its mark on the compact hatch market in a way no other hatch has. And while others come and go, the Swift is still going strong today – celebrating its 40th birthday and the introduction of the new Swift Hybrid in 2024.
Since then, he has had an open top Sierra and a Jimny.
“All in all, I guess you could say I’m a real Suzuki convert.”
Did you know the Suzuki Jimny has been going wild since before Star Wars? Suzuki really changed the game by introducing the world’s first light 4×4 off roader, the LJ10, (AKA the Jimny) in 1970. Since then, Jimny has been busy winning hearts all over the world in locations far, far away.
Here at home, Jimny is a cult favourite, with dedicated fan clubs all over Queensland – we’ve even got our own: the Jimniacs Hub.
