Ever wondered what 796 Jimnys would look like in one place? Well, exactly like this (above). On 4 September 2023, Suzuki South Africa organised as many Jimnys as they could, marshalled them into one place and co-ordinated them to simultaneously switch their lights on. The result, a claim for a Guiness World Record. The display is pretty typical of the obvious camaraderie that exists between Jimny drivers around the world. Whether it’s an index finger raised from the steering wheel when approaching an on-coming Jimny, parking beside another Jimny in a car park which has become Jimny folk lore (or what some refer to as the ‘Jimny Law’ ), or nearly 800 gathering at the same place at the same time to do the same thing, if you own a Jimny, you know you are part of a word-wide community.
