Samford, Qld set to buzz with onset of Suzuki Swarm

There may not be any beehives at the Samford Showgrounds, but Suzuki Queensland’s Marketing Manager, Jake Tobin is hoping to witness the greatest swarm ever seen in Australia, at the picturesque, semi-rural enclave just west of Brisbane.

Not so much a buzz of zzz's but rather of sss's in the form of a Suzuki Swarm event as Suzuki car owners gather in the one place at the one time to become part of the swarm.

He’s confident that Queensland’s love of the Suzuki brand – heralded by the highest per capita ownership of Suzuki Jimnys in Australia – will boost attendance at the Suzuki Swarm of vehicles sporting the Suzuki badge.

Not just Jimny owners, but all models from all years whether still a current nameplate like Swift, Vitara, Ignis, S-Cross and Vitara, or much-loved models from yesteryear including the Hatch 550 and 800; Cappuccino; X90; Mighty Boy; Kizashi; Sierra; XL7; Baleno, SX4, Alto and Celerio; Liana; Wagon R; Carry and APV vans.

“Road cars, frugal commercial vehicles, off-road superheros – any vehicle that wears a Suzuki badge on the grille will be welcome,” Mr Tobin said.

The Suzuki Swarm will be held on April 20 and while attendance and participation in the fun social event will be free, all vehicles must be pre-registered on the Suzuki Queensland web site: https://suzukiqld.com.au/theswarm/

There will be complimentary food and drink on-site. Top rating radio personality, Stav Davidson from B105 will compere the event. “A key part of the day - which is being planned to cater for all age groups - will be a processional drive around the neighbouring locale. We will email details to participants once they have registered,” Mr Tobin said. “The showgrounds can cater for an event of up to 700 vehicles, so pre-registering will be very important.”

The event will be supported (both in the lead up, and on the day) by Suzuki community clubs including JB74 Qld and North Brisbane Suzuki 4x4. These 'clubs' are instrumental in a great deal of Suzuki community events and gatherings across the State.

“This is a great opportunity for people to meet like-minded Suzuki owners, have a great day out in the Samford Valley, for the youngsters to have fun in some special games and for enthusiasts to compare vehicle notes, mods and memorable tales.”

“Register and come along for the buzz,” Mr Tobin said.
