Launched in Australia in January 2019, the Jimny has received instant appeal here – as it has globally.
The Jimny continues to embrace the core character of a small, lightweight 4WD vehicle following nearly 50 years of worldwide popularity – but now offers so much more.
With a choice between manual and auto, and modern features like cruise control, high beam assist, daytime running lights (DRLs) and multimedia satellite navigation featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; this vehicle is equally at home in the city - handling tight streets and small parking spots with ease.
Safety has been stepped up too, with front dual, side and curtain airbags, Dual Sensor Brake Support and Electronic Stability Control (ESP).
Under the new on-trend striking exterior; the Jimny reveals a ladder frame body, true 4WD system and proven off road ability for those who want to play and the myriad of YouTube videos already attests to that.
There's a reason that it has such an admired heritage, and a legend that is set to continue. Ironically however, the true 4WD which can go just about anywhere – can’t get near a dealership!
Whilst Japan are ramping up production, the reality is that as more Jimny get sold and seen on the road both here and around the world, the interest will grow further – putting more pressure on supply and making the wait even longer.
If you haven't driven one yet, we urge you to contact your local Suzuki dealer and arrange a test drive, for apart from the above – the word from those who have secured a vehicle; is just how much fun they are!
Whilst there is much news and conjecture over the wait or unknown availability of the Jimny, here in QLD, we allocate a retail sale contract to the Japanese production and can determine the expected delivery date. The advantage to that, is If earlier contracts fall over for whatever reason, you get escalated up the line - and hopefully take possession of your Jimny sooner. So, whilst the wait for the Suzuki Jimny is frustrating – the entering of a sale contract secures your vehicle and protects you from lengthening queue behind you.
